when playing world of warcraft the game randomly but frequently crashes back to the desktop with no error message or (more often) reboots my whole comp. when that happens i get a microsoft error that there was a problem with my video card driver which resulted in a stop error. (ATI Radeon 9550)i have found no solution on WoW forums or tech support, and ATI still hasn't responded to me. i have the latest drivers from ati's website, i updated my bios/chipset drivers, i've tried everything recommended anywhere i've seen. this problem has been occuring for maonths but with each new patch or update from blizzard the problem gets worse. now i cant stay logged in for more than 5 minutes. oh, and nothing is overheating, either. posting here is proof of blizzard's inability/incompetence to solve this problem. someone please help if you have any ideas as every day i can't play i'm still dishing out money to blizzard. thakyou, and if you need more info i will provide.

I've been having the same problem for weeks with WoW on mine (same model T3256). I did a full clean wipe and reinstall of windows XP and the problem came back right away.

These problems didn't happen prior to the WoW expansion, and i believe it's completely the fault of the blizzard software.

This problem doesn't occur in any other program or game.

I have this problem lately as well after the expansion, my pc spec is:
P4 2.66GHz
1GB ram
ATI 9550
etc...

I have played the other games with no problem whatsoever for hours so I can assume it's not about overheating. At the moment when I play WOW and usually when I am walking around in the map for about 5min then I crash out to the windows with error message saying "not enough memory to run the following program" (i don't remember exact word for it but the same meaning). I have never had this problem before (except when I am flying on the bird in the game). Now it gets so bad that I can't even go anywhere because it'll crash in the middle. I am sure that it's nothing to do with memory or cpu... I close all other applications to run this game and turned down all the graphics settings. My drivers are updated btw.

If there's anybody out there who could help me I would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hi I have found this solution from the web, and I have tried it and it actually works! I have also put "-nosound" at the end command in the wow shortcut (make sure there is space before the - so it looks like xxx\Launcher.exe" -nosound. You can try just using the below solution without doing this. Or you can try both. I have copied the solution here:

Delete the info in your config. file (in the folder) and paste this in instead. I have 2 computers with ATI cards, and I imported the info from the one that was working, to the one that wasnt and now its running perfect, no problems. Its worth a shot, and if it doesnt work, just delete the config. file and it will go back to defaults.
