You're lucky you even got BF2 to run on Vista. You can't lower your ping at all, unless a new BF2 driver comes out saying that it supports Vista.

Revert back to XP. No matter what anybody says, Vista is just not ready for gaming yet.

I wish my lawn was emo so it would cut itself.

My games run almost as well in Vista as XP. XP still provides a better gaming experience, but Vista is getting close.

It can't be claimed your pings can't be lowered if it's brain dead obvious there's a software issue inhibiting your pings.

Give us some more background. Did you perform an in place upgrade to Vista, or did you do a fresh Vista install?

Are you running the latest drivers for your video card, motherboard chipset, and network card?

Do you have any security suite that has a firewall in it?

What are your hardware specs?

Have you run Windows Update and installed all the latest updates and application compatibility fixes?
