but i need games like bf 1942 and nfsu2 to work in window. and they dont use steam. and also i got some advice about ALT+TAB (just in case i dint know). you DONT press ALT+TAB at same time. u hold down ALT then if you wanna switch to anuther program or game or woteva then you press tab til you get to the program (or game) that you want. it makes ALT+TAB 100% easy to use and i always throught you press them at same time. which made it very difficult to switch.

From your post it is hard to guess your level of experience. You don't say which programs give you the problems and you don't give any information about your system, so it is hard to guess your level of experience and what the ral prblem is.

Avarik is giving some easy- to - do- tips to see if that works, and because this is not what you was hoping for, you start to behave like a spoiled brat.

You don't deserve any help. RTFM and read some on Netiquette

To play BF1942 in windowed mode go to the battlefield 1942 folder, than go to Mods, bf1942, Settings. Open the file VideoDefault.con in notepad and where it says "renderer.setFullScreen 1" change that to "renderer.setFullScreen 0".

To play the Sims 2 in windowed mode you just add -w to the end of the target in shortcut.

I don't own the other game so I unfortunately cannot help you.

Nigel, you are a fool. He asked if there is a program to allow games that are full-screen-mode only to be played in windowed mode , and the person stupidly told him to use alt+tab. Then you proceeded to tell him that he needs to post his system specs for you to help him. You are honestly one of the most ignorant people I have ever seen on a forum. Even though you know how to properly form sentences you post nonsense on forums that you know nothing about.
