Win 7 and Fallout 3

Specs: Win 7 Service Pack 1 Linux dual boot, Quad Core 3.6 AMD 4100 500GB 8GB DDR3
Game Of The Year Edition Fallout 3 has been installed as is on a brand new machine, the game worked OK for the first week up to level 3, unless you include the traders short changing me. The game now crashes all the time no matter what I do, but the in game music still plays in the background.

There is a lot of conflicting ideas out there but I have tried installing the patch 1.7 which just tries to start/run the game the actual patch installation just freezes, patch 1.6 was no fun either installed OK but the game still freezes even after re-installing the game as well.

Is there a way this can be fixed in easy to understand instructions as I'm not technically gifted as you can tell. If it can you would make me one happy gamer.

Still had problems with my old PC hence the new kit.

Sounds like a video driver issue. Try using the newest drivers for whatever video card you have.

Traders have a finite amount of caps. When the arrow between the inventories dims, he cannot afford the sell price. Or you can't afford the buy price. Depends on which way the arrow's pointing, really.
