I know i need to update the RAM on my computer. The games graphics and all that are fine it just runs slow. Is the processor a problem too since it's only 700mhz and i need 800? if it is, i need to sell the game because i don't have enough money to get a new processor, too :( or do you think w/ updating RAM it will run well enough to play?

in my expirience The Sims is one really really BLOATED game. I even expirience slowness and freezes on this system (see below name stats...). Although, I think you defintaley need atleast 256mb of ram no matter what you are doing.

In my experience of games, the minimum spec for games is not a good place to be. The game will most likely run, but will be most unplayable to all but the most patient people. Below minimum specs?? it'll probably run with a 700MHz chip (I must emphasise 'probably') But it won't be much fun.
My old machine was an AMD Duron 800Mhz, 256mb SDRAM, 6.5GB HDD, 32MB Geforce 2 MX200, Soundblaster 16-bit
It struggled to run the original Sims smoothly enough for comfort even though the game only required like a 450MHz processor, 128mb ram and a 4mb graphics card @ 800x600 to run.
So it would be anyones guess.
Try it and see!AMD Athlon XP2200+
Aero7 lite
512mb Crucial pc2700
Abit NF7-s V2.0
80GB Seagate SATA
120GB Seagate SATA
Geforce4 Ti4200 128mb
Benq FP767-12 17" 12ms
SB live 5.1 Digital

I ran the SIMS 2 on
384mb ram
800mhz amd athlon
nvidia fx5500 agp2xand it ran with all settings turned off
800x600 but it wasn't enjoyable so the ram
upgrade will not help!AMD 64 3000+ 1.8ghz @ 2.385ghz
512mb PC3200
BFG 256mb FX5500 O'C
400w PSU

I wouldn't recommend even trying The Sims 2 on a computer with those specs. I was running it on a 2.4ghz pc with 512MB RAM and a GeForce4 MX420 graphics card. It ran slower than crap and had to have all the settings turned off. I got a new graphics card and it runs ok now with all settings on, but still not as smooth as I'd like. I'm planning on another 512MB RAM once my bank account recovers from Christmas.
A lot of people are having problems with this game on relatively new PCs. The forums at thesimsresource.com and the official site are full of people complaining about game speed. Personally, I'd give it a miss or risk ongoing frustration.

Keep in mind that Pentiums are NOT made for games and 3D apps.
cough, no offense, i dont think ive ever heard anything more stupid...My Linux Bookmarks:
