OS: Windows XP Pro SP3
CPU/Ram: P4 2.8 GHz/ 1GB RAM
Product: D845PESV
Comment:

I got the game Need For Speed Undercover for PC, it worked badly in too low frame rate and, it seems that the game has performance issues like ProStreet (The last NFS game) So, I decided to get Race Driver GRID instead so, I'm wondering if it will work on my old pc the specs :-

Windows XP Pro SP3
Intel Pentium 4 HT 2.8 GHz w/ 512 KB cache
Intel D845PESV Mboard
1 GB of RAM
100 GB Hard drive
nVidia GeForce 7600GS - 512 MB VRAM

The game requires 3 GHz P4 processor while I have 2.8 GHz so will it make a trouble If I played the game with this pc, I'll reduce the detials of the game to get the acceptable balance between graphics and performance.

Your system meets the minimum requirements for Need For Speed Undercover. If you can't get that game to run properly, why would you think that Race Driver GRID, which has even higher requirements, would work?

If you wanna play games & play them well, it's time for a a more modern system.

In the meantime, do a major housecleaning of your current system...scan for viruses, trojans, spyware, malware. Install & run CCleaner Slim...both the cleaner & the regusrty scan...remove everything it finds. Run MSCONFIG & disable unnecessary startup programs. Update all your drivers, etc. Basically, you want to run as lean as possible so that as much computing power can be used for your games, not for useless background crap.

Race Driver GRID doesn't have so much higher requirements than Undercover, the defference is only 200 MHz of processor speed !

I thought that GRID will work better because, NFS Undercover was made and built on NFS ProStreet game engine which was non-optimized. Undercover has performance issues even with other users who have the new powerful Core 2 Duo processors and nVidia GeForce 9 series.

I mean the game is already bad with everyone, so, I'm trying to get the game which has no problems with others instead of trying this crap.

My system is well mentained and running fine, all other games are working fine including Devil May Cry 4 which has the same requirements of GRID, that game worked perfectly with everything High detialed. I finished it. All I need to know If I can run GRID as I ran Devil May Cry 4.

It's NFS Undercover problem not my pc's trouble.

Why don't you download the demo first?

What steering wheel do you have?

I couldn't get my Microsoft Force Feedback wheel to work. (I know, it's old)

Before posting try google. Backup. Use anti virus software.

I made the analysis of the game on Can You Run It, that site over-estimate the game requirements sometimes.

No prob, I can upgrade my system RAM from 1 GB to 2 GB that might solve the trouble for some games that needs little higher processor speed. DDR RAMs can be found now while P4 processores can't and, I don't have enough budget to get a new gaming system and my current system is still healthy so, I think that RAM upgrade will be enough, what do you think of this Idea ?

Your system may be "healthy" but it's outdated when it comes to modern games. The P4 never was a good gaming CPU, your board only has a 4X AGP slot, RAM runs in single channel mode & your video card uses slow GDDR2 memory. Adding more system RAM can't make up for any of that. Try disabling HT & see if that helps at all.

And in the future, avoid boards made by Intel. Intel chipsets = yes, Intel boards = no.

Look !, I've upgraded RAM to 2 GB, surprisingly it solved the trouble of NFS Undercover, I'm now getting 45 to 50 FPS instead of 5 : 15 FPS.

Do I need to re-install anything to make the system get along with this new ammount of RAM or it will take time by itself ?
