Yes! your system will run DOOM 3 And Half LIfe 2, your systems specs look purty beefy! so it should, a GF4 Ti 4600 should be inuf for those games, even if it doesn't have full support for Direct X 9 but it will run them fine, if u see that the games start to kind of lag, u can overclock your video card! with this software called PowerStrip, it is easy to overclock your video card with this program, but make sure u got good air flow in your case,if you want to overclock a good deal, you can upgrade your video card's cooler and get some ram heatsinks for your video cards ram chips, well i hope this helps!

hmmm never been a big fan of power strip myself personally I just stick with the Gainward overclocking app that came with my card, but if your card didn't come with such an app power strip is probably your best option, though I'd avoid putting heatsinks on your GFX cards ram, as all the data I've seen on Ti 4600's indicate that cards with ram heatsinks actually ran hotter than those without as the sinks don't disipate the heat quick enough and have more or less the opposite effect from the intended one by retaining heat instead.

hi all
since you know and have the HL2 demo i am really keen on buying a card that will run both doom 3 and HL2 at full settings

since i'm 13 i have to get a job to pay for all these things luckily my birthday is soon so i can build the sytem but not the grpahics as yet..but that is only if i get a really high end one

the system specs for the one i'm building is.

asus p4C mobo
700mb or possibly 1gb
120gb DDR IDE
Creatiivity sound card

those i am already buying...
but these are the ones i'm thinking on or choosing...i just wanna see what are better.

either AMD 2400+, 2600+, or P4 2.0ghz

graphics card....get ready for the list!
i'm really inept on G- cards i kow alot but do not know which is best for me.

hercules 3D prophet 256mb 9600,
Wainward nVIDIA 128mb FX5600 (which can be overclocked to 500mhz,1000mhz) but i've heard the 9600 is better.

these i have in mind but i have to save for a bit....but remeber i just want a card that'll play at full or that is good for my wallet. :)

radeon 9800 pro 256 or 128
nVIDIA FX5900 ultra 256 or 128mb.

thanx for reading it..i guess i have just rambled on. if you could, will that be enough to play at full (i.e the ATI 9600 and FX5600)

right, get a barton 2500+ overclock out of the box to about 2.2. buy good (not generic) 3200 or better. As for graphics card ati 9800 pro is the way to go, stay away from nvidia fx line.
