Ok, so I was playing World of Warcraft... everything running just fine with no unordinary problems. Then my ISP screws up and I get disconnected. Ever since that disconnection, my World of Warcraft has had these wierd graphical problems. Random Lines, Pixels, and Shapes of random colors flash on the screen. And just recently... it's created false terrain where it normally shouldnt be, making it much more annoying. To make matters worse, when I went to play a couple of other games, they too have wierd colored pixels randomly in them. And they didnt before this all started.

My video card is ATI Radeon 9200 SE...and I have updated the driver for it just about 10 minutes ago, but the problem persists. Nothing else on my computer's settings have changed though... Anyone have any idea what might be causing my problem and know how to solve it?

I'd suggest checking your DirectX.

Press the 'Start' button, then select 'Run'.
Type: Dxdiag
Press Enter, then test by choosing the 'Display' tab.

Your gfx driver could be corrupted, too. Might be a good time to download the latest Catalyst drivers, uninstall your current drivers, and install the new ones.

Ok, Dxdiag reported no errors.

I uninstalled all of my previously installed ATI things (that I installed from my CD). That was... ATI Control Panel, HydraVision, and Display Drivers. I tried to install ATI Catalyst 5.5, but it whined about needing to be in Standard VGA mode (I dont know the significance of that mode, or even how to set it). But before I restarted, I did see that the Background ATI had for the Catalyst installation had some pixels on it that were messed up. After I restarted my computer to finish the work of the uninstallation, it automatically set me to Standard VGA mode (Atleast I'm assuming so, because the Catalyst installed that time). But this time, I noticed that there were no problems with the background... no messed up pixels at all. However, after the installation, I restarted my computer and tested the Catalyst... but I still received the same problems as before.

Any further advice would be much appreciated, and thanks for you're help so far.

Have you updated your motherboard's chipset drivers?

I'm suspecting your gfx card is overheating, but before we go there, you should always update your drivers to rule that out.

You may want to pop the cover of your PC and take a look at the video card's fan if it has one. Make sure it's running. If not, you need to replace it or gerryrig something to cool it down. If it's just a plain heatsink without a fan, you may need to add additional cooling.

These often do the trick in either case...

Yeah... it must have been overheating. There is a fan on the part of my case that comes off... but of the 3 times we've opened the case, the stupid fan has only worked once. And its plugged in now, but doesnt work. Anyways, I havent had problems on the Stepmania test, so I'll annoy my brother about helping me fix it, since we also need to swap out my dead Floppy drive too.

Thanks for the help
