Why is my battlefield 2 freeze up when it says "loading complete. finding user data" or w/e it says when joining a serveR? Its really making me mad and it takes like 10 minutes to join a server, and by then, it says that i got kicked. please help me.
maybe your internet slows down around that time when it is trying to connect to the server.

If you are talking about the "Verifying Client Data" this takes a long time for most people - not quite 10 minutes though. If you are not just exagerating about the 10 minutes, you could try some things that might help.
1. Make sure you are not running any processes in the background that are taking up resources. The verifying appears to be very CPU and memory intensive. 2. Defrag your hard drive - the verifying is reading your game files. This will help.
It takes me about a full minute to get in game. I have a slightly better CPU than you (2.4GHz). And, I have the same amount of RAM. You could try adding more RAM, I have heard conflicting reports that it helps.
I can control the sound on my headset, and when it freezes up, i cant change the sound but right when it unfreezes, i can change the sound back to what i want it to be. i am also getting more problems with my sound such as when im listening to music or when im starting up bf2, the sound stops for like a quarter of a second and so does the game. Its a constant thing that happens every two seconds. Do sound cards have anything to do with how programs run?
well u cud get get a sound blaster cos there good for games and if u only have onboard sound its probably better to get a sound card(for better game sounds),
to defrag hdd just go to mycomp>(whichever drive)>tools, defrag.
to add more ram just find out wat kind of ram u have on ur board already (or find out wat it supports and get better ram) then just buy some and put it into the dimm slots(assuming u have some avaliable)
