Why don't you just grab a better power supply+a good graphics card? The 8500GT isn't a very good card (though it's still miles ahead of your 6150).

Who made your PSU? Not all power supplies are created equal. A friend of mine runs an 8800GTX on his Dell's 375w PSU without any problems at all. Yet there are some 450w PSUs that would crumble trying to power an 8600GTS!

Tell us the specs of your PSU (found on the sticker attached to it).

Thanks to eBay, I could afford to SLi my PC and eat artistic toast.

I wasn't telling you to buy an 8800GTX. I was just giving you an example of what a well-made PSU could do, and what a crappy one could (not) do.

So, what are the specs of your PSU? +12v specs, in particular?

Newegg sells the brand new Radeon HD3850 for $179.99, which is a damn good card for the price. However, without knowing your PSU specs, it's hard to know whether or not it's capable of handling the additional electrical load.

How do you know it sucks? Have you opened the case & read the specs off the label on the PSU already?

"idk.... im gonna get a new power supply anyway..."

You may very well need a new PSU, but without looking, you have no idea if the specs suck or not. Do you realize that a decent replacement is gonna cost close to $100? What does that do to your video card budget?
