NOT an LCD, those things can't pull high enough refresh rates. Get any flat-screen non-LCD monitor for the best visual quality + performance.

I use a 15inch LCD @ 75hz and it's an awesome gaming monitor, no ghosting while playing games at all, also LCD monitors are much brighter than CRT, CRT can't match an LCD for brightness, even my laptop is awesome for gaming again using LCD

well $150 won't get you a good LCD for gaming.

Basically *any* monitor will work. Shoot I'm using a 15" no-name from sears I bought years ago..the resolution blah, refresh blah..what counts to me, since I tweak my game settings for performance, is monitor size.

I had a Samsung 19" from Office Depot, it was great..Actual model was S something or other, but definetly made by Samsung. Oh and it cost me $150 before my $50 rebate :) It took me a while to wait for the rebate after I missed the first one but hey the wait paid off.

If you don't really want to wait. I'm considering one of the Micron monitors from surpluscomputers.com. Its going for $69. I have no qualms about buying refurbished monitors..heck my Asus A7n8x delux is 'refurbished' and I got it for $69..

The truth is most LCD's lack brightness and contrast, only the best can match the luminance of a CRT. Running games at anything other than the LCD's native resolution may also cause interpolation. So for gaming I would prefer a CRT...

There are several bad CRT's too. Good CRT's will support very high resolution at high refresh rates(over 100hz). If you prefer 21" U wiykd get Sony Triniton GDM-F520, if 19" Viewsonic or NEC

I have a 15inch vizitron L5AK5, have had this monitor for about a year now and it's been perfect, not 1 dead pixel either, from the day I plugged it in it has not given any problems

Am planning to get a new 19ich LCD once I got a bit of money, don't know which one yet :-)

Ugh, LCD's aren't great for gaming. They're "alright" but get a flat CRT if you want great visual quality. Most LCD's can't keep up with fast paced games and don't have that great of refresh rates... btw, if you're playing at 60Hz refresh rates and that's the only setting you can play on.. then uh.. get a new monitor, quickly =p your eyes will thank you.

60hz on a LCD and a CRT are completly different as they are to complelty differnt technolgies, 60hz on an LCD does not hurt your eyes unlike CRT which can flicer like hell and LCD is awesome for gaming, I will never go back to CRT, EVER

Once you try LCD you will never go back

Yes zero cool TFT is LCD, i dont like them, i found the one i had just got s--- loads of glare, even during normal operation. I now have pure flat LG 17" crt monitor, no probs with that at all.

Some LCD are better than others, guess you were just unlucky, I get no glare, bluriness and extrmely little ghosting which is practically not visible, one day there will be no CRT's anymore, they will be all LCD's or some other new technology, CRT also take up way to much power and are very good if you like weight lifting :-)
