amd 64bit. im not sure what speed though.

i would go with AMD for games now mate intel chips just cant hackit

i have very bad luck

AMD and Intel both make great chips.
AMD does run 1/3 quicker in terms of clock cycles but runs hotter than most Intel chips.
Its just a matter of preference.
How much are you willing to spend on a processor,is what you need to ask yourself.

Depends what you want to do with your PC

If you're a gamer, get an Athlon FX (socket 939)

If you do alot of encoding, then you're better off with a hyperthreaded P4.
