for under 100 i would recommend you get the FX 5200 and if you look enough you can find some FX 5200 ultras that are under 100

FYI: video cards don't effect the frame rate much but offer a much better visual presentation, if you play games and it is laggging i would recommend getting more RAM

Since your only pushing 600mhz, you really arent going to be able to play any DX9 games at decent frame rates, dx8 games for the most part will be slow, Dx7 should run smoothly. If I were you, I would save my pennies and get a new system. That aside the fx series as mentioned above are great cards. As for your ram, yes and no. To make a windows xp box really fly it wants massive amounts of ram, double what you have. Your memory should be cheap so if you wanted to stick with your current system a bit longer ram would be a great investment.

will the extra ram make the games run faster or will it not improve the framerate

No surf. 512 is plenty. Your PIII will be the bottleneck.

You will need motherboard, cpu, heatsink & fan, memory, likely a power supply and/or case. IMO you should build a system from the ground up and keep your 600 intact.

Nvidia doe shav esom egood stuff but if you wnat a faster computer you dont really need anopther case and all jsut the essentials like cpu, heatsink, fan motherboard and if it is not e same as you have now memory(ram)but a new case and power supply might be a bit drastic it depends on how extreme you wanna go there is even cases that have water cooling and neon lights it jsut depends on your taste but definately dont go with ATI comapred to Nvidia they cant compare

I would go with the ATI Radeon 7200. I bought mine from RadioShack for about $90-120. This videocard is a 32MB, and was a great addition to go with my new custom-built pc.

As far as a new system goes you should build a new one with an AMD Athlon XP 2.4ghz or faster. AMD processors outperform Intel processors especially in gaming. They are also cheaper than intel. :) Get DDR ram and at least a 64mb DDR video card. The nvidia fx is a good card or a Radeon 9000. Also get a ata 133 hd. Right now your 600mhz cpu and HD are the biggest bottlenecks in your sys. Hope this helps a little!

id go with an ATI Radeon 9500 (non pro) w/ 128 megs of RAM, this is a good card for your buck you should be able to find it for 80-150 pending on where u look
