im working on getting my computer rebuilt. i got a ECS
Elitegroup nFORCE 570 Slit-A socket 775, FSB1066, Nvidia SLI-ready. and 4 gigs of DDR2 ram and evercool watercooler wc-202. i want a grafix card with dual DVI out. and at least a gig of ram either with one card or using 2 of the same card with the SLI bridge. any help would be awsome , thanks. and can someone tell me if all that
stuff i listed above is really good or not. thanks

The PCI-E slots on that board are x8, not x16...even with a single card. And from what I've read, the overclocking options are limted. You could have gotten a better board, Core 2 Duo, 2 GB RAM, scrapped the water cooling idea & had a better performing system for the same amount of money, maybe even less.

Go for better Mobo and Core2 Duo. I think you got more money to spare so i suggest you go for 8800GTX 768MB DDR3 RAM. Eventhough you SLI them, computer barely fully utilizes both RAM. Anyway its faster than 1 card (so to speak), but dont expect twice the performance though.
2 GB of RAM already enough. But if you're thinking to go for 4GB its up to you, your money.
Scrap the watercool as Core2 was not as hot as AMDs X2 which requires you for this setup. And its much more efficient too.

I agree with Jam on the Core 2 and less RAM. But PLEASE don't get a 8800GTX or GTS yet. They are the first of their generation. Wait until ATI comes out with their solution and the price wars begin.
I wish my lawn was emo so it would cut itself.

thanks guys for all your input , what about this grafix card EVGA GeForce 7950 GT / 512MB GDDR3 / SLI / PCI Express / Dual DVI / HDTV / Video Card. anybody have one of these or know about them? i would prob get to make a gig. what do u think

from my own personal experince i have the geforce 8800 gtx man i love the card i can set the card on full speed aa as all that then the game grafix all the way up and not even a hicup and everything is awsome looking frames etc. but as adam said before the price war thing is something to watch too its always back and forth coming out with something better i dont think that will ever stop least it doesnt seem that way im in the middle of getting another new gaming pc myself but im confused still on what to get
core 2 or amd fx 62 or just wait it out and get the fx 74 so to tell the truth on your topic if your planning on running two sli 8800's ... well wow is all i have to say im just running one and everything runs perfect they're massive cards btw lol i was going to ge t the 7950 but these new ones released all this vista ready stuff and everything can't wait for vista im going to love it but end the end i dont know if you will want to wait or go ahead and get it either way it seems in couple months something better comes out i hate that lol msg me on aol sometime lesane22 i play alot of online games and things and do alot of comp stuff if you ever want to chat or play bf or fear or something

oh meant to ask how is the watercooled computers i have never tried going down that road lately but i have some heating issues well had sometimes fx's run hot anyway but i was wondering like i said im ordering a new computer going to build it myself again unless i choose to go with the water cooling cause i have no experince in that at all im typical *air cooler* person i wish i would have had the place that built this one install a watercooled system but i had to order a temp card and i didn't know if they ran it through the card or the size of the card would be in the way i know the 8800 i have more then likely would have lol right now im on amd 64 fx-60 mb is a a8n32-sli deluxe gaming board they're good mb's normal old 42x rw writer i need to update that which im going to do with the new one and i didn't know you could sli the 8800's the ones with the 768 mb well i might have knew i just dont think i can do it without getting a new .. big power supply heres the exact picture of the card i got i would suggest it to anyone if they are wanting it asap http://reviews.cnet.com/Nvidia_GeFo...
to sli these though i bet you would at least maybe need 850 or 1kw psu i dont know for sure mine is a 580 as said before i bet the next line of these will be sweet my ram ( alot of people to me 4 gigs was pointless) is PC4800 or higher i cant remember been stressing other computers and parts specs etc. but i got 4 gigs this was almost a year ago when all this stuff was brand new spent over 3000 getting this now i could get it for 1.5 more then likely :( also i messed up 1 week after i ordered mine amd released they're new AM2 socket * i was mad * at my self should have done my research better im on 939 anyway now i am going to get a new one maybe 4 grand or less but i am loosing my mind trying to figure out what to get and researching everything and every detail i am a amd person but this INTEL CORE 2 EXTREME QX6700 2.66Ghz/ 2x4MB/ 1066FSB looks extreamly nice but is it not pratically the same as my fx 60 speed i've racked my brain so much lately im just confused i'll figure it out hopfully i am to the point i dont really hardly want to even build it myself. what size psu do you have if your going to run two of those cards invite me to your home i want see that kind of raw power i might do that myself thanks for that idea but check that website out and take a look at that card the link should be in these long threads lol what kind of games do you play in ways it mainly boils down to what you are wanting to use a card for i think games movies multiple screen or pure proformance at full grafix and how soon your wanting it keep in mind about the 8800 card they are massive size wise an i dont know if your watercooled system would be in the way or your case might be a bit small im using quite a big tower mines similer to this http://www.vr-zone.com/print.php?i=...
message me on aol instant msger or i got yahoo or whatever we'll talk turkey about games psu's and things i could use some info myself on what kind of computer and best parts i could get and what i should or shouldnt buy last time i bought some stuff i never even used cause i thought i might need it im going to be using it soon so it didn't go to waste just now its more or less "out of date" go figure

Well i dont know how well the water cooler is going to be i dont have any of these componets installed yet im waiting to get the grafix card. but i think it will work pretty good. this is the one your talking about right http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicat...

yeah thats the one but mines evga brand not water cooled is their any diffrence? or just the heatsink? btw like that site you delt with them before? i've been looking for some places to buy my next one but i dont want to pay really crazy high prices guess 3400 or so is quite a bit but some things i dont really understand heres the exact model i have cept evga looks the same http://reviews.cnet.com/Nvidia_GeFo...
i don't know to go to core 2 or wait for amd sense i have a amd the past 2 comps i might stick with them but im liking what i see with intel lately plus its already released the core2 quad or w/e they're calling it the site i was thinking about buying from is right here http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/...but i dont know if i'll go that way or not few parts on their i really dont know nothing about or well understand completely like this one for example ASUS PhysX P1 Card powered by AGEIA PhysX processor 128MB PCI Card() how that works with sli or how it works alltogether but i'm still reading about it dont know if i want test it out or not alot of things that i want to buy will increase proformance and gaming like onboard sound disabling that helps etc. you know what im saying also i've been into the laptop area i might start a thread maybe asking people what parts i should choose even thought everyone has they're diffrence of opinions far as amd intel, geforce ati i think more but good advice is hard to find anymore on a whole computer together rather than each part seems that way sometimes lol i just dont know about laptops and gaming but it would be nice to be able to play a game while im riding somewhere with someone or check internet for whatever anytime i wanted i love the water cooled idea seems nice i've always been fear full about the idea though myself cause i fiddle with my parts alot overclocking would be awsome though for it. the mb i have has that A.I and N.O.S thing right now works strange

GeForce it big time dude r u going to do 4gb ram play 4 games at once save the money and spend it on 512mb nvidia geforce 7950gt thats good but serious you only need 512 for a while dont get no 8800 waste of cash and ur not gettin ur desired 1gb anyways.
by the ways core 2 extreme annhialates any amd out currently dark sky.
Dont put a question here ..... OK

Ya i just got my grafix card geforce 7950 GT KO, 512mb , and my OCZ ram (2 gigz) today. i havent installed anything yet, still waiting on my power supply though. i mainly just want to be able the play battle field and oblivion and fear and s--- at full speed and as long as it does im good. if not ill buy another 7950 GT and 2 more gigz
