OS: windows XP pro SP2
CPU/Ram: 2.5 ghz, 1024 RAM
Model/Manufacturer: Celeron D, intel
Comment:

I am upgrading, and have 1 gig RAM, and 2.53 ghz celeron D P4.

I was wondering which card is better for BF2: the ATI X1300 256 meg, or ATI 9600PRO 180 meg?

I have searched around but am still not sure.

180?i didnt knew there were any cards with 180Mb memory. anyway i used to own a 9600 PRO not to long ago and with my 3700+ it run fine (as in low settings) now i got myself the X1600 PRO and it runs very good ( as in high settings) the X1300 isnt really a gaming card.

if it is not over your budget get an X1600 PRO.

really is best bang for the buck. or in my case, best bang for the euro:P

ATi Radeon 9600 PRO
AMD Athlon 64 3700+
Gigabyte K8NSC-939
1Gb Team Group DDR400

X1300 isn't but the X1300 PRO is a low range gaming card. the 9800 PRO is getting old, i'd avoid both of them and get a nvidia 7600 agp.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ OC 2.7ghz
2GB Dual Channel DDR 3200
Nvidia 7900GT
SATA II 2x 200gig 7200rpm 16mb cache RAID-0
Gigabyte Nforce 4 SLI

A 7600 for a 2.5GHz Celeron D is not a good setup.

Well a Celeron D isn't a good cpu for games from the get go.

LOL, too much compared to today's prices for what you can get the 4600+ for, but at the time I got it OEM for a really good price so I wasn't complaining.

I spent roughly a 1000 on it, minus the DDR 400 I yanked from my older system. I can prob sell it for 700 on ebay if I sold it as is which i'm planning to do when i build my next system on the AM3 platform.
