You have the AMD 64, you have the AMD FX processor, and you have the AMD X2 processors. Now, I am getting confused with all of these choices. X2, is this dual core? I believe the FX series are just beefed up AMD 64's. But are the X2 and the FX worth the money? I will probably be building a new machine in about year. What will amd be coming out with? How do you think technology will increase, will SLI be history? What should I be looking at for a next year system?

X2 = dual core
FX = Bad to the bone single core

Are they worth the money? Depends on the apps you're running. Games for example don't benefit currently from dual core. Will they next year? Who knows?

I don't mean this sarcastically:

Look next year.

I expect AMD to improve their technology. How? I would expect further improvements on dual core since it's not perfected yet.

Irregardless, whatever they release next year won't be price effective. You will probably be looking at 1M cache Athlon 64's, FX55's, FX-57's, and today's dual cores as moderate priced products. The improved dual cores will be cost prohibitive.

You didn't put a period at the end of your sentence. You didn't capitalize the first word of your sentence. You also didn't put the word in quotes.
