All 8X AGP cards also support 4X. And all but the oldest cards support Pixel Shader 2.x. Newer card support either 3.0 or 4.0. Here's some recommendations:
I checked the recommendations, the cards were amazing but, I'm not sure that they will work in my old AGP 4x motherboard.
I've decided to look for one of these card to buy. Please tell me if one of them is not compatible: 1) Radeon X 1650 Pro AGP 2) Radeon X 1950 Pro AGP 3) Radeon X 1600 Pro AGP 4) nVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra AGP
Tell me which of them is the most compatible one with my AGP 4x System. Thanx.
The 6800 Ultra is pretty good, I used to have an AGP one too. The problem I found was that it was very loud, very hot and consumed a lot of power. It has about the same performance as a 7600GT. It will probably be pretty expensive too. I originally bought mine for $350 Australian even when it wasn't the latest and greatest thing.
Maby you should get you hands on a 6600GT, still not a bad card.

Are you going to be playing lots of games with your computer? If so which ones. Most older games (IE roughly 1-2 years) can still be run on a 6600GT with good settings and some newer games on lower.
Both ATI and nVidia have their fair share of good and bad cards, some games run better on ATI cards and some better on nVidia.
Tell me what you going to be using it with and I can make some recommendations.

Almost any card will be better than that. Not long agao I saw some ATI X800GTO's selling for dirt cheap, they are a good card for the price (They were about $79 Australian)
There weren't many good 7 series AGP cards value wise, your best bet is the X1650 if you can find one at a decent price. But as I said almost anything will be better than your 9250, a 6600GT is lightyears ahead of it.

Actually, I got nVidia GeForce 7600GS 512MB, I think it's powerfull, fast and has high quality too, but, there's a strange problem with it, vista changes it's rating every time I refresh it, it becomes 4.4 and 4.6, is that because, it's not correctly seated ?
I have a similar problem with my AGP card, a pretty banged up and noisy Radeon 9600SE.
I was wondering though, just for my own morbid curiousity, just how far down the list my card has fallen in terms of speed and power, and if I could just as easily say:
"Almost any card will be better than that"
Also, since my current card is a DDR2, (or possibly just a DDR) would a X1950Pro DDR3 or similar work on my motherboard? Does it even matter?
