Simple question !
With £200 what gfx card would people buy?
As you can see I currently have the Geforce 4Ti4600 which is getting a little old. With the near future releases od Doom 3 & Half Life 2 I am loooking to upgrade.
I am open minded as to ATI or Nvidia, just looking for the best my money would buy!

I'm looking at the ATI 5800 Pro. That card gets a lot of recommendations around here. You can do a lot of online research by reading reviews and performance tests. Tomshardware is a good place to start.

How much do you want to spend?

jam's got a point, some new supercrads are comming out so in time the previously elite cards will be cheaper.

Why do these people bother asking? clearly they are gamers and know about current cards, less of the willy-waving people, it's just sad.

Some people are like Slinkies™, not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs...

Sometimes a little nudge from someone who is more experienced is very helpful.
Why do some people feel the need to flame?
I am really looking to replace my gfx card and as you say am quite experienced within the gaming scene ....I was thinking of purchasing one of the FX59 series cards but have been impressed with the ATI 98 reviews of late.
By the way how sad is it that you would take the time to type 114 characters just to criticise me !

i recommend a 256mb card like the ATI Radeon 9600.
With a card like that you won't have to upgrade for a while, + it's well under your budget.
But that depends if you won't pure grunt and power which most people do won't.
very well performing card.

The last 2 post are what these type of forums are surely meant to be all about!
I thank you both as they have given me food for thought.
Looks like the 9800 Pro is looking favourite at the moment.
