Hello everyone,
im a complete novice when it comes to upgrading my pc but i know i need to now.
please advise me on what you think i should upgrade in what order, what i should get and how much it is likely to sting me :)
and please ask if you need more information.
ive heard that i have to look at my power supply also,
my system is:
Windows XP Professional SP2
AMD Athlon 64 Procesor 3500+ 2.21GHz. 1GB Ram
Memory: 2x512MB GeIL Ram
Graphics Card: Gforce 6600GT
Motherboard: MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum (MS-7025)
HDD: 120GB internal
250GB External
Drives: 1xCD Burner
1xDVD Burnerthank you for your help

honestly i think you need to upgrade your mobo+cpu+ram+vc. whats the watts on your PS? are you planning to go dual vc?

Several choices:
1. overclock the CPU to 2.75GHz, add 1GB (2 x 512MB), upgrade video card. Approx cost: $150+/-
2. same as above except upgrading CPU to a S939 X2 dual core, IF you can find one at a decent price. Approx cost: $250+/-
3. sell your board, CPU, RAM, & video card, then buy a socket AM2 nForce based board, upper mid level X2 CPU, 2GB DDR2-800, upper mid level video card. Approx cost: $300+/- minus what you get for your old hardware.
4. sell your board, CPU, RAM, & video card, then buy a socket 775 P35 based board, Core 2 Duo CPU, 2GB DDR2-800, upper mid level video card. Approx cost: $375+/- minus what you get for your old hardware.
