what is the most disappointed game in 2005? to me, Quake 4.
Q4 is the most disappointed to me. i thought it would be much better. its just same as doom 3, just better graphic than Q2. the gameplay is just the same as doom 3, you just carry the gun and run around and shoot whatever atk you, thats all. In the beginning, its fun, but after a while, you will get bored. and all the guns have no secondary fire mode. i just noticed id software/Activition never make secondary fire mode for all weapons in all 1st person shooter. from doom1-doom3, quake to quake 4. all weapons only have 1 fire mode. that made the game much less fun.

o yea, i forgot. talking about the most disappointed game of 2005. what is the greatest in 2005? man, its hard to say. easy to say which game is the worst, but hard to say which game is the greatest. (refreshing me mind) hmmm... well, to me, i would say CoD2.

CoD2 would be an easy pick except it's way too freaking short, and failed to add different game play experience to Call of Duty 1. Even the first one's expansion pack managed to add stuff like being a gunner in a bomber. At least include that stuff in CoD2!

So with that, I'll choose FEAR...

i like fear much more than q4(altough i dont consider as the game of the year) cuz you can sneak. the enermy only shoots you when they see or hear you. and if you hide for a while, they will report lost contact and their alert will drop. in Q4, like doom3, they knew when you will get there, doesnt matter you walk slowly, crouch walking. when you get there, they pops out. it doesnt make you think how to pass them or kill them, you just hold a gun and run then shoot whatever atk you, you can evev just close your eye, and when you hear they pop out, shoot! LOL!

I meant FEAR as best game, not biggest disappointment.

I wouldn't vote Q4 as the biggest disappointment because Doom3 was really not that great a game. Before that, id, while their engines are awesome, hasn't made a good all around game since the first Dooms. Therefore, mediocre to not good was what I would have expected from id.

oh wait its most disappointed game lol... maybe half-life 2 since the concept basically is the same as hl1, and gets pretty boring even in the start.

I like Cod2 a lot. The only complaint I have about the game is the fact that there was no ragdoll physics, had they implemented that, the realism factor would have increased by 10 fold!! I mean I hate that all enemies you shot die or fall in the same way.

I have my new computer from not so long so I haven't played many games yet. But from those I've played, I choose F.E.A.R.

(I played alone at night with headphones and damn it was scary)

Worst game of 2005: Doom3.
It was nothing but a rehash of the original doom. Same creatures, same attacks. I mean c'mon hasn't the imps evolved enough in the last decade to be able to defend themselves against the circle strafe?

Best game of 2005: Split decision Far Cry & HL2
Far Cry was very unappreciated in my opinion. It was the first FPS that I know of that was so "unlinear". In most cases you could take any route youwanted from A to B. Plus the enemy AI was great. HL2 brought the environment much more into play than any other game. And the physics was brought to a new level.

"just try playing fear in the dark, candles, and full 5.1 surround!"

Doom3 was more scary to me than F.E.A.R, recalling I'd play DOOM3 till the wee hours of the morning with full 5.1 surround and lights off and on a couple of occasions, I confess I'd quit playing because my peripheral vision.

I love the Prince of Persia series because of the moves and didn't like how HL2 ended, and F.E.A.R's gravitational physics should have been much better.

I agree; computing.net does need an edit button.

COD 2 was actually my most dissapointing game. Not only was the single player much too short, but the online play totally diverted from what made the original multiplayer so good (realism).

I can only hope that the expansion includes some bad arse vehicles and stresses aiming weapons once again.

yea, its kinda short. but still good to me. Bf2 is good, what i dont like is, you cant shoot while jumping, or bunny hop. you can only shoot when you land. not like CS, you can shoot while jumping in the air. for example, if you see a guy behind a wall in BF2. if you jump over the wall, by the time you land and pull out the gun, your dead.

I've only played BF2 once and I like that about the game. Bunny hopping and rocket launchers/insane weapons is what turned me off from UT2004. It isn't that I wasn't bad, I owned at LAN parties (have to pat my own back), just not a lot of skill/strategy involved.

It went downhill when they lost all their good level designers following Doom2. Activision took them over just prior to Quake2, which, if there was a good id release since Doom2, that was it.

Personaly I think your being too hard on id. I played doom 3 alone at night and it was prety f--king scary to me. The origonal quake was an amazing game for the technology they had at the time. It had the best soundtrack of any game in history if you ask me. does anyone remember the first popular FPS? Wolfenstien 3D ahh what a game.

BTW is saying F--king considered offensive?
