Reply: (edit)Woah nice find on the 9800pro Frosty, that's a pretty sweet price. I'd go for that refurbished video card Kris, if you're looking for one under $100, you won't find much better than that. AMD Barton 3200 1024mb PC3200 Ram Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb A7N8X-E Deluxe

Reply: (edit)Refurbed = customer return. It could be that some idiot ordered the card, tried to install it & found that he only had PCI slots, then returned it. Newegg will not resell cards that they know are defective. I've bought 2 motherboards & at least 3 video cards & didn't have a problem with a single one of them. The only thing is, you may not get everything in the box...that's why newegg sells them as OEM. That generally means, just the bare card with no accessories. If you get the retail box, manual, cables, driver CD, etc, consider it a bonus...all they'll guarantee that you'll get is the bare card. You can return it in 15 days, otherwise, you'll still have the full manufacturer's warranty, which is usually 3 yrs on video cards. Is it a gamble? Sure, but you'll also save yorslef at least $25. Reply: (edit)One thing that was left out is that high end video cards like the 9800Pro MUST be connected to the PSU, so having a decent power supply is VERY important. If your's is weak, or maybe I should say, not powerful enough, you'll either have to set your sights a little lower or shell out for a better PSU. The 9600XT is an excellent card & I don't think it requires the extra plug-in. Asus A7N8X-X 1800+ @ 8.5 x 200MHz 768MB PC3200 2.5-3-3-7 Asus A9550GE/TD 128MB WinME/WinXP Pro

Reply: (edit)I thought he said his budget was $100? *shaking head* Silly people spend $600 on a gfx card - either silly in the brain, or they make silly amounts of cash, so they don't care about a $600 drain on their bank account. "Republicans in Congress are moving to ratify a constitutional amendment to ban flag burning, thus ending the Iraq insurgency."
