I just purchased a new computer, finally upgrading from the ancient machine I had and I want to know what else I'll need to be able to play games at a reasonable level, games like Halo and the GTA games and Half-Life 2, etc. Here are the specs:
Intel Pentium 4 Processor w/HT Technology 3 GHz
512MB RAM
100 GB HD
Integrated Intel Extreme Graphics 2
Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit ADVANCED HD Audio
I have no expectations of running something like Doom 3 at max, nor do I want to really break the bank, so, any recommendations would be helpful, thanks.

You need far better graphics, the intel extreme(ly crappy) graphics will not cut it at all. Do you have PCI, AGP, or PCI E slots?

You also should get another 512M of memory.
