weird graphic glitches

I decided to re-install Need for speed Most Wanted. My comp use to run this game very well. I now have graphics glitches, particularly where smoke is involve. I tried other games: MOHAA big graphic glitches everywhere(mostly on the ground), even when i browse internet servers. Minor glitch on the chracter in Vice City, while San Andreas runs fine. I installed the newest drivers for my Nvidia NX6800GT. I have directx 9.0c, i will get the newest version directly on windows site. I have a P4 3gig with 1 gig of Corsair ram. The demo of Battlefield 2142 runs fine. I have a Viewsonic VX922. All my games are legit.
