a geforce FX5900 for 169 dollars

Which one of these cards will give me the best price for performace ratio? I usualy play HL2 and UT2k4.

The GeForce 6600 GT often has more than double the performance of a FX 5900, so i say go for the 6600 GT, and try to get a BFG or ASUS one.

Sound GREAT! Just stay away from rotten eggs like intel and ATI. They're nasty for games...no, scratch that-nasty for just about everything.

mitch, just what exactly is it that ati and intel did to you? did they shove a handful of chips up your ass or something? i'm sorry that i'm bitching at you, but your posts are not helping anyone. i mean, nvidia and amd are both great companies, but ati and intel are both great in their own ways. you shouldn't discourage people jsut because you had a bad experience.

Ok, so I was a little extreme with my comments. It's just that I don't want anyone else to go through what I've experienced. I'll try to be less harsh on intel and ati in the future, and I do admit that they are not all that bad at somethings, just a bit worse at gaming than amd and nvidia. I said the word everything because everything I do most of the time on my PC is gaming, which means that I've had a bad time with ati and intel. If I go into detail, you'll just call me a rotten egg again. BTW: I take back what I said about ati and intel are rotten eggs- they're just bad at what I do. Also, this is a gaming forum, so I will often times suggest amd and nvidia over the others. However, in the future I won't smack them so hard and say rediculous things.

Ok....
So you guys say the 213 dollar 6600GT has a better price/performace ratio than the FX5900 NU for 169?

No question about that, AirVent.

Sorry, I think Fury is just pointing out the fact that Mitch isn't giving good advice, but just spewing out pro-AMD/Nvidia bullcrap. Makes me wonder how much Nvidia stock he owns. ;-)

I don't own any stock! I'm just trying to be helpful- come on, lay off my case. I said I'm sorry, what else do you want-me to build an ATI shrine and worship it every day? sheesh.
