I have an older computer and am thinking of buying a new video card.What would be the best I could buy for this computer?It supports AGP 2x and currently has a Rage128 Ultra?? as the display adapter.

The card you already have is pretty good. You could get, say, a Radeon 7000 or 7xxx cheaply or a clone that uses the ATI chips even more cheaply, which is backward compatible with AGP 2x, and has excellent hardware DVD playback support, but your will see very little difference in performance (been there, done that).
If your can increase your processor mhz, that will make more of a difference.

Even if you get a higher-performing video card your processor and motherboard will likely hold you back.

get one of those first generation radeons if you can find them - when they first came out - they were the shi.....

you can also try a GeForce2 or a GeForce4MX
anything above those and its your CPU that'll be holding you back

Intel P4 2.6 @ 3.2
1GHz FSB
Asus P4P800
2x256 Kingston DDR400
--->ATi Radeon 9800Pro 128MB<---

one of the best things to do would be to upgrade.. i reccommend just building a new computer/if you dont know how to then just buy from from dell or something. Ram seems ok but that cpu is a little TO old.. should also use at least ddr.. as others said you would not be able to get the full performance of the higher end video cards.. such as the fx cards/ati 9xxx. Having a better cpu/overall system always helps out.. not just the video card.. my friend has the same video card as me but I usually get an average of 9-14+fps in more than him..he has an amd 2800 I think.. and I have a p4 3.2 @ 3.63.. as well as sata.. pc3200ddr, etc.. .
