i dont know what my video card is but i think it is a nvidia. i have a laptop and i had gotten a virus that made me reformat. windows doesnt recognize my VC so i dont know what i need for drivers. can anyone tell me what i need to do to get the proper drivers?

yeah it does me no good because i dont know the model and i dont know if my laptop even installed the card or no

Here's a simple way of finding out, provided you have directx installed.

Go to Start---Run---type in dxdiag in the command line---press enter. The display tab should tell you what kind of video device you have. You can also download gpu-z if this doesn't work. Here's a link to their website:

Nvidia web site will also search your machine to see what drivers your card needs

A simple way is to find the model nimber of your laptop, then go to the manufacturer's website & download the drivers. Do you know the model number? It should be on the laptop somewhere...possibly a label on the underside?
