1st of all, you're posting a hardware question in the gaming forum...or you may have better luck in the overclocking forum.
One suggestion would be to try setting your 2500+ at it's stock speed of 1833mhz (11 x 166mz/333FSB) & see if your games are playable...if they are, your problems are probably caused by the overclock.
I assume you never stress tested your overclock settings for stability? So in effect, playing a game is your stress test...& it failed. Try using TOAST & PRIME95 instead. If you run into problems, try raising the CPU voltage...possibly the RAM voltage as well.
TOAST will really heat up your CPU, so keep an eye on those temps. Run it for 20 min to max it out. What temps are you getting now...idle & loaded?
I'm not gonna bother looking up the specs on your board or what options you have in the BIOS, but your default CPU voltage should be 1.65v. If you have stability issues when running PRIME95, up your CPU voltage to 1.675v & try again...still no good? Try it at 1.70v...you'll have to decide for yourself how high you're willing to take it.
You'll find Toast & Prime95 (plus a whole lot more) here:

Another suggestion would be to test your RAM using memtest86

One last possibilty is a weak power supply. Wattage is one thing, amperage is another. You should have a minimum of 18A on the +12v rail...especially if you have several drives, several cooling fans, & a higher end video card that requires an extra 12v plugin from the PSU.
