I forgot to add that I can't buy stuff online, so im limited to: BestBuy, CompUSA, Office Max, Curcit City, and MicroCenter.

Also after buying the card, I'm most likely not going to buy another one for at least 3 years. So I'll need the best card that within budget.

Dell Dimension 4500
Pentium 4, 2.0 GHz
Windows XP Home, SP1
512 mb PC2700
nVidia Geforce MX 420 64 Mb
80Gb Hard Drive

8x DVD-ROM

Don't get an FX5500, at least not for $100. And you don't need 256MB. CompUSA has a PNY Verto FX5500 128MB AGP on sale this week for $40 after rebate. It may use 64-bit memory though, so I suggest you do some searching to check that out. The FX5500 is not gonna hold you "for at least 3 years", but for $40?

Circuit City has an ATI Radeon 9550 256MB AGP on sale for $90 after rebate. I know I said you don't need 256MB, but since you can't buy online, you gotta go for what you can find.

These 2 sites compare the Radeon 9550 to the FX5500:

Whatever card you decide on, try to get one that uses a 128-bit memory interface, do not get a 64-bit card if you can avoid it. Then again, for $40, it might be tough to pass up...just don't expect your gaming to be spectacular.

Asus A9550GE/TD 128MB
WinME/WinXP Pro SP1

And with a 250W power supply, don't be surprised if you need to replace it to run a new graphics card.
