i was wondering if anyone could advise me on what video card to upgrade to for games like farcry, COD, BF2... etc. I was looking into either a Radeon 9600XT or 9700 Pro, or NVIDIA 's competitor card. I am concerned because i dont know if i need to buy additional cooling fans or what not. Here are my specs.
Dell Dimension 8300 Pentium 4 2.8GHz, 1024 mb RAM, thanks.

The Dimension 8300 had some fairly decent card choices (for a Dell)...which one did your's come with?

The Radeon 9700 is better than the 9600XT, but the difference isn't huge. One of the options for your Dell was the Radeon 9800Pro, so I'd say that would be a decent choice. What about a Geforce 6600GT?
