There's no guarantee the HP power supply will be able to handle such a high end video card.

ATI doesn't list a plain X1900. But of the cards in the X1900 series that they do have listed, the GT is the weakest:

I would probably advise upgrading your PSU but your heating should be ok if u have a 3800+ x2... Mine is running at 40degrees C with a 7800gt my case is a Antec lanboy which isnt that awesome so it should run fine...

Just make sure the PSU is a good brand b4 u buy it... check Newegg for reviews b4 buying.

TJ297 All Prices are in Auzzie Dollars =D

AMD 3800+
2 Gig RAM
Nvidia 7800GT
Thermaltake 430w PSU
Antec LAN-boy Case

PSU = Power Supply Unit. One capable of handling the X1900 will cost at least $50-75

A whole 75 huh? lol...OOOOOOOKAY

A PSU is nothing top skimp on. Spending a good 110-160 on a PSU is not unheard of and is a step you should take.

Notice I said at least $50-75.

For instance, this 450W Fortron PSU (about $60) will handle anything your system can throw at it:

If you wanna spend more, this Antec 550W is available for $80:

But spending $110-160 is totally unnecessary & is just a waste of money.

That 450 is lacking good amperage on 12V rail. A total of 36 is not enough.

Enermax Liberty series.

you've cleary never built a top end machine then. 7800GTX's have been known to kill out some of the best 550W+ PSU's. I had a machine in the shop with a 7900GT that had an OCZ 535 in it (don't remember if it was a Powerstream or a Modstream) but that killed out that PSU plus an Enermax 520.

And that's not the first time that's been seen.
