Vice city error

OS: xp pro
CPU/Ram: 950 athalon/ 768sdram

I got Vice City using bit torrent and installed it and I can play it but everytime I keep getting an error and it closes out. Sometimes it will come up a few seconds after I started sometimes I can play for and hour but it always comes up. Here is the error I get
unhandled exception:c0000005
at address:0065939b

any way to fix it?

Well, the errors are hex errors. Typically they represent problems with RAM and memory pointers. Have you had other problems with these errors? Also, it may just happen on games..do you only get errors when you attempt high performance 3d games? I would do all of the following:
Download newest DirectX from microsoft.com under download section.
update the video card drivers.
then uninstall then reinstall vice city. let me know if it works
