Vertical lines, bluescreen error while gaming

Specs: Windows 7 32 bit RC build
Hey guys, this is my first time asking a question here.

A few weeks ago I got a Sapphire ATI Radeon 5770 and have been experiencing a problem that I didn't have before, with my EVGA nvidia 8600 GTS.

While gaming for a while (mostly occurs after more than 30 minutes) thin vertical lines appear from the top to the bottom of my monitor. The color of the lines seems to be the color that is mostly on-screen before this happens, with every other line a darker shade of the color.

Once I restart the computer and choose Windows 7 and "start windows normally", a window comes up saying that Windows has recovered from an error; or along the lines of that. I choose additional info and it says that the error name is Bluescreen.

Any idea what is causing this to happen?

It would be better to check gpu temp and system temp in bios.
