Hello,
I recently bought the game "True Crime: Streets Of LA" for my PC. I installed it and tried to run the game and I got an error message before it was loading. It said "Fatal Error...no capable 3d hardware accelerator found. This game requires a 3d hardware which supports T&L or Vertex and Pixel Shaders version 1.1 or higher." My video card is an ATI Radeon 7000 64 SDRAM. Does this card not support the items mentioned above? If not, is the only solution to buy a new card that does support vertex and pixel shaders or is there an alternate solution? Thanks.

Nope.

Yes.

Some people are like Slinkies?, not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs...

Good news is those cards are relatively cheap. If this is the only thing you want to run now and in the near future, even an FX5200 would do.

I have a a GE Force 2 card, windows XP. P 3, 1.8 MHz.

I can play Far Cry smoothly (finished the game took me about 15 hours - 2 days straight), however I can't play 'Alias' from Acclaim, similar pixel Shader s---.

Also Prince of Persia, 3D similar - not running.

Heard from the discussion above, what this emulator for pixel shader for GE Force 2 card? How does it work and where to download?

Anyone has any advice?

Cheers

I just finished the game True Crime, I have a GE Force 2 card, no problem with pixel shader, however I do have with 'Alias' from Accalim.

Hint: go to race(at the intermission-cruising mode) and win a fast car before the next level, or you will never outrun some of the villians in later part of the game - True Crime. There are about 4 endings, finsihed all 4. If you need help let me know.

Go to training for special moves and gun skill on occasion.

Cheers

LOL, seems like an awful lot of trouble to do what you're doing than just spend $50 and buy an FX5200. That's a new card; I'm sure you could find something cheaper on ebay or such if that's your sort of thing...

Thanks everyone for all your input. I think I'm just going to grab an ATI Radeon 9700 pro.
