Hey peeps,

As most of the games on this planet, ive been eagarly awaiting Half Life 2. I will be buying this on CD or DVD, which ever. Howerver, a friend of mine has one of the ATI/HL2 combination things so wants to download it over STEAM.

The main question i have is, what happens when you download all these fantastick add-ons for games or even complete games and you find you have to format your hard drive and start a fresh? Can you back up the programs? Or can you re-download them WITHOUT having to pay again? (only applies to the games you PAY for)

Thanks for your time,

Daniel

as long as you have your steam account then you will not be charged for re-downloading games.

All you need to know is the e-mail you registered with Steam and the password you use to sign up.

Make sure you choose EXIT AND SIGN OFF before formatting HD.

Once you have Steam installed again, login and all your games will be back. You won't even need CD keys or the original CDs anymore.

AMD Athlon XP 2700+
Asus A7V600-X
512 MB of DDR RAM
GeForce FX 5200 (256 MB)
Seagate 120 GB SATA
