Hi, im new to this site and to the amazing world of computers. Im trying to upgrade my PC for gaming and im on a tight budget. My PC came as a family pack.
Its an Intel Celeron D 346 CPU 3.06GHz
3.07GHz, 448 MB of ram.
Would anyone please advise me on how to upgrade my PC and not spend loads of money. If anyone needs more info on my CPU details, just ask. Thank you very much.

oh yeh and if you were wondering, i got a Via/S3G unichrome IGP and i know its bad im deciding on buying a new vid card so can you recommend any.

You need another 512MB RAM & a gaming video card. Do you know whether your system has an AGP slot or not?

Do you mean i have to add 512 MB or replace the existing one with 152MB. And i am not sure on how to determine if my system has an AGP slot. What type of gaming video card do you recommend.thanks in advance.

Add another 512MB to the 512MB you have, but you'll need to determine what type/speed RAM you have so you can match it.
And without knowing which upgrade slot you have availabe (standard PCI, AGP, or PCI-Express), it's impossible to recommend a video card. Apparently you have an iQon PC? What model?

look here, I just found out that i have a PCI bus. I have Intel Celeron D/448 MB. I also have a VIA/s3g unichrome IGP. Since its integrated do you think i can change it or do i have to get a new mobo thanks.

With only a PCI bus, you're very limited in what you can do, graphics-card wise.
The best PCI card is the Radeon X1300 PCI w/ 128-bit memory interface. But even that card is far slower than a "standard" X1300 for AGP or PCI-Express. And it's very overpriced, considering how weak it is.

If you'd really like to get into PC gaming, then I'd definitely buy a different board, along with a different CPU while at it. The PCI bus + Intel Celery processor = choppy gaming.
But if you're like many PC users, who don't go beyond an occasional game of Sims 2, then a PCI Radeon X1300 (or even a cheaper Geforce 6200PCI) may do the trick for you.
Jackbomb's other, non-P3 rig:
AMD x2 4800 @ 2.9GHz s939
Asus Geforce 8800GTS
500GB WD sataII drive
2 gigs of PC4000 DDR1
X-Fi extreme music
Xbox USB hd-dvd for movies
