can anyone suggest me best supported pci express 16x graphic card(256 mb video memory)so that i can play latest games for my pc which has the configuration:
p4,2.93ghz,533mhz fsb,(512+256=760)mb of ram
condition: price of graphic card not exceeding RS 6000.

Rupee? As in Zelda!?
Don't even think of upgrading your video card until you've added AT LEAST another 512MB of RAM.
I wish my lawn was emo so it would cut itself.

You do not need any more RAM. Trust me, it is a pure waste of money, time and resources. Now, for that system I would suggest an ATI Radeon X1300/X300 512MB Video card (PCI-E) naturally. In American $$s, it is around $50. This is a great gaming card, especially if you are money consicous. I have been custom trimming computers for over a decade, I also have a PH.D in Computer Engineering. Don't listen to these other people here, for the only reason being that they are all so hyped up about having a 600 dollar video card (BTW, your computer wouldn't take anything that hot anyway), to play some game. In conclusion, people who make such outrageous allegations are snobs who drive Saabs (note: semi-lux, but notoriously unreliable Swedish car)and hold their noses higher than others.

And why anyone would recommend a four pixel pipes and two vertex pipes with 512MB is even more jaw dropping. That card will still offer sh!tty performance even with its 512MB video memory - that is can't harness anyway.
Just grab the cheapest one between the two cards that jam linked (X800GTO or *GDDR3* 7300GT) and call it a day. Anything above those two and your CPU won't keep up.

Sabertooth is right - don't listen to this guy! You could use that $50 to buy an extra 512MB of RAM, and you would see a real performance increase EVERYWHERE, not just in games.
Why anybody would suggest that piece of crap (X1300 512) is beyond me, though. Obviously when he was getting his computer engineering doctorate, he skipped all of his "not-piece-of-crap video card" classes.
I wish my lawn was emo so it would cut itself.

I'm guessing he's using onboard graphics, so upgrading to a PCI-E card should be top priority....the RAM can wait.

He drives a Subaru brat.
And BTW, HCC (Hickville Community College) does not give PH.D's in Computer Engineering
to just anyone.Next time you want to belittle people on this forum who are trying to help, you may want to have credible information yourself.
Have the lambs stopped crying Clarice?

yes "jam" you are right at present i am using intel GMA 900 onboard graphics(video memory up to 128 mb)
my motherboard is 915G chipset which has a pci express 16x slot, so i would like to have a pcie card having 256mb of video memory and best suited to my motherboard so that i can play latest games
i am also upgrading my pc with an extra 512mb of ram so the total ram of my pc would now be(760+512=1.2gb)
now with 1.2gb of ram can you suggest me a card best suited to 915g cnipset

Assuming your board supports running the RAM in dual channel mode, your best bet would be to dump the 256MB stick & get a 512MB stick that closely matches the one you already have. Then you can run 2 x 512MB in dual mode.
6000 RS is roughly $135 US. My guess is that should be more than enough for either of the 1st two cards listed in the link I posted....the same ones that Sabertooth mentioned...X800GTO or 7300GT *GDDR3*

jam's right once again ladies and gentelmen haha listen to his advice he knows what he's talking about. But what about DX10? shouldnt this guy wait up a little bit more and add up some money?
Regards,
AJ
