I got all my stuff for my custom computer (check my previous topic "need input on this custom computer". I told you i'd post again after I got it. Well me and my friend put it together Monday (wasn't so complicated....still a crapload of wires though). Heropsycho if you are reading this, you were right about my friend. The way he told me about the Windows XP Key, it was a legit key. He had some kinda illegal fake key thing, I didn't wanna deal with it so I just went out and bought xp myself. ANYWAYS, so far, this thing is awesome. This case is huge and sturdy, the video card looks awesome, we hooked up some cold cathode lights, and we added a Zalman heatsink and arctic silver 5 thermal paste. I was playing Oblivion earlier, and running around outside with ultra high settings, I was getting anywhere from 50-70 fps (every once in a while it would drop to about 30, but then it would go back up after about 5-10 seconds or so). The only problem was the onboard sound on my mobo was crap and it crackled with loud sounds, had to go buy some soundblaster sound card at wal-mart (I'm not picky on super awesome realistic sound, any sound pretty much is good with me as long as it isn't crackly). So my computer is pretty much perfect and I love this thing. Thanks for all the input you guys added, in like all 3 or 4 of the topics I made in the past month heh. Sure am glad I decided to build my comp instead of buying it from a prebuilt place.

By the way, what is a good site to learn about overclocking? It might be worth it if my computer can handle it (my friend said with the airflow in this thing, i probably can)

The good thing about WalMart is their almost no hassle return - take the card back & get this affordable & unassuming performer instead.

I'd like to say that how I knew this was a stroke of genius or clairvoyance, but I'd be lying. LOL...

Yes yes heropsycho you are a genius heh. Anyhow, I'm happy enough with the sound card I have. I'll get something cooler later when I get more than 2 cheap speakers. As long as I have soiund thats not crackling, I'm not real picky, sounds good enough to me when I use headphones.

No, no. I'm NOT a genius. Knowing that was a pirated copy was pretty obvious. :-)
