TopGun and a Joystick

Alright i recently found my old Top_Gun DOS based game, and i cant seem to get the thing to work. the game does not recognize the Logitech attack 3 joystick i own. "its an Emachine T-seires at its heart, Intel Pentium(R) 4 3.06GHZ with one gig of RAM. Anyone have any ideas to get it working? or am i sunk outta luck with the fact its a USB- ported Logitech joystick.

USB devices were not around when MS-DOS 6.22 developement was curtailed in 1995. Are you running in DOSBOX or similar ??
