It sounds like a really old game. Provided EA even still handles the support for this game, it more than likely will not be fixed because they have already moved the developing team to the newer titles. Patch the game first, then consider upgrading to one of the newer Tiger Woods games.
Reinstall it and apply the patch immediately: http://www.strategyinformer.com/dlr...
You will need winrar to extract: http://www.winrar.com/
Run 3ddata file by clicking on it.
replace cards.txt in Tiger Woods 99 folder and replace the old one.
now when you run the game go into options, 3d accelerator, 3d options....make
sure driver is set to 3dfx.

OK, I will try in the morning.

Two questions:

Does 3ddata.exe work on windows 98

Do i replace the cards.txt file in tiger woods with the one in the zip file?

Patches don't have a set of system specifications normally. They are the same as the game specifications unless it's a graphics or game engine upgrade in which the company specifies and notifies the user.

Run the executable located inside of the .zip file and follow all on screen instructions. Move a cards.txt from .zip file and replace the original that was created from the initial install.
