lol yeah wtf is it...some special effect, probably makes the game look better at the cost of performance.

Not sure what it is. There is a check box with the word bloom next to it in the Audio/Visual section of the options screen. The manual says very little about it. It seems to have something to do with shadows or dynamic lighting. I couldn't see any difference when I tried running the game for a few minutes with it checked and un-checked.

It's probably a minor effect then. Try leaving it off or on, however it is by default.

"Bloom is the graphic fuzziness used to great effect in UbiSoft's recent Prince of Persia"

Hmm..Bloom is good if your u didn't apply the FSAA. If you are using FSAA in the game than switch OFF Bloom effect. Because it makes the game blur and unclear on the PC monitor. Its one of method of implementing "Post Process" effect. You can find this on the game like "NFS-Underground", "DeusEX-Invisible War", "PrinceOfPersia-SOT".
If you want an effect like motion blur than switch it on. If you wants clearer image, than i suggest that u switch it OFF.

Sorry for using the technical terms..
FSAA - Full Screen Anti Aliasing
A method to reduce jagginess "staircase effect" in 3D. This will improve the visual quality but reduce the frame rate drastically.PostProcess - A method of implementing a blur image on screen "Bloom Effect" so that the game may look more realistic (Duh..). This can enhance visual quality depending on game but reduce the sharpness of the image. Racing game can have a sense of speed but game like FPS is not recommended.
Note: Post process and FSAA cannot go together. The post process effect will make FSAA unnoticeable. It better to use Post Process effect with higher resolution instead. Recommended 1024*768 or higher.

So in other words, you should use either bloom or Full Screen Anti Aliasing but not both and if you have your screen resolution set higher than 1024*768 and you have low FPS you should use bloom.
