Im about to upgrade from 512 to 1 gig ram. I like to play my games (sims2 and simcity4) while listening to windows media player radio and as you know it makes the game move slow. I actually have 384mb because of shared ram with my vid card (X200), but I will get the X800. So if I make the upgrade will that help out for the performance?

Most gamers will tell you that 1gb is the minimum if your serious these days. hence alot including myself have 2gb.

I guess the 2gb thing is more a matter of ppl wanting more than the next guy in most cases...however I user photoshop alot so thats my excuse! :-)
God article though...still not completely convinced all new titles over the next yeah wont break the 1gb barrier. we'll see

BF2 seems to respond some to 2GB, but it's not significant. Over the next year, you probably will see some more titles, but the point is it's not necessary yet.
