According to this, you do not have an AGP port...

Looks like you are doomed to the slower PCI cards.

This looks like probably the best deal in PCI from newegg.com which is a reputable vendor...

I'd highly recommend a RAM upgrade as well. 256M will probably not cut it in Sims 2 very well.

While not the cheapest, they do guarantee their RAM upgrades will work for your system.

I'd go to at least 1GB of RAM. You'll notice Windows all around runs much better.

Last option would be to consider just replacing your entire system. Not sure if you're happy with the performance of your system otherwise, and what your budget is.

From what I can tell, you have a cheap Dell system with a low end Celeron CPU & too little RAM. Your power supply is underpowered & your motherboard only has PCI slots. It's not gonna be a very good gamer no matter what you do to it.

Here's your system specs:

http://support.dell.com/support/edo...

How much are you willing to spend for a video card? There are very few decent PCI cards available anymore & what goods ones there are, are expensive. When searching for a card, don't confuse standard PCI with PCI-Express...they are two completely different things. You need a standard PCI card.

This is 6200/64-bit card is about as good as it get's for roughly $50:

If you're willing to spend more, look for a card that uses 128-bit memory. It doesn't matter if the card has 128MB or 256MB RAM.

hero must have posted while I was browsing the cheaper PCI cards at newegg...lol

"I'd go to at least 1GB of RAM"

It appears that her board only supports a max of 512MB (256MB per slot) & chances are, it will have to be low-density RAM.

well...it would run Sims 2, maybe not blazing fast, but it would with 512M and that video card...
