The sims 2 double deluxe, yet another problem

July 7, 2011 at 13:11:35
Specs: Windows Vista
I brought the sims 2 double deluxe and installed it into my computer.
At first i thought everything went smoothly but then when i clicked the desk top icon an error poped up saying.

"You are running the wrong system of the sims?, please run the correct the sims 2 double deluxe instead"

Something like that,
The I uninstalled it and restarted my computer.

I must have reinstalled the game about 10 times.
Now the splash screen comes up and the game runs all the way to the title screen.
But when i get there the only option is

"create your own neighborhood"
And when i click that its blank.
Please help!!!

"Something like that" isn't gonna cut it, we need the exact error message.

"I must have reinstalled the game about 10 times"

Do you know Einstein's definition of insanity?

Hi,

I know this is an old post, but I came across it in hopes to find an answer to this question as well.

I've installed The Sims 2 Double Deluxe, and when I tried to launch the game by pressing on the icon on my desktop, I got the same error message: "You are running the wrong version of The Sims 2, please run the correct The Sims 2? Double Deluxe instead."

My system meets all the requirements, but I can't seem to figure out what's wrong, I've also tried to re-install and install.

Thanks.
