Hi, i was wondering if anyone could explain to me why my latency has been going up so much lately.

Im on a Belkin Wireless Network shared by 3 people ( Inc me ) and i get a 11.0Mbps connection and it says its an Exellent Connection.

About a month ago it used to be perfect when i went on games like CS source or Wow i have latency of about 30 which was fine for me.

Since about 3 or 4 weeks ago it went down severly at night and was ok during the day.

This was partly i think because i got a virus but i deleted it eventually. Anyways the past week my latency has gone up to around 200 on Css (Like 500 at night) and about 2000+ on wow (Even went to 15000 once)

Well i dont know what to do really because i have looked around and i cant find any real answer or cant understand it or maybe looked in wrong places.

So can anyone help? Ill give you more info if needed.

And im using Kaspersky Internet Security after my sisters friend put it on there to get rid of the virus. Previously i used McAfee.

Thanks :)

When you have an infection, you should always disable System Restore before running the virus scan. I don't know why anyone buys programs like Norton, McAfee, Kaspersky, etc anymore....there are plenty of free alternatives that work just as well & aren't nearly as bloated as the commercial offerings.

Do you have CCleaner? If not, get it & use it regularly. It's available at the above site, along with anti-virus, anti-spyware, & a whole lot of other good programs. Most of them are free.
