Comment: hi i recent chucked a pc toghether from what i understand i should theoretically be able to play any game on at least medium setting on 1024x768 resolution but thats not the case i can play a game of c&c generals zero hour over lan with my brother and ill get fairly severe lag spikes every 10 seconds or less another game is planetside a mmofps that is one of the worst on almost total low setting im hitting around 3 - 8 fps in a decent battle (about 20 people running around) its more like a slideshow than a game and another is city of heroes a mmorpg which i hit from 5 -20 fps on average where people with much lower specs than me are hitting 40 - 60 easy my specs are Intel Pentium 4 3.2 800fsb 1mg Cache, 2 gb dual channel ddr, geforce 6800 gt 256mb. im just a bit shocked ive recently formtted and reinstalled all drivers and still laggy

Reply: (edit)I have no idea if this will help or not, how are your temperatures after gaming? It could be that you need better cooling. Also, is your power supply good enough to handle that system?

Reply: (edit)This might sound stupid to you, but have you checked bios when you boot to make sure that your computer is reading all of your parts correctly? Actually, forget that I said that, I now see your benchmark post. You wouldn't happen to have anti-aliasing and/or anisoptropic filtering turned on would you?

Reply: (edit)Go to the advanced properties of your video card. I've never used a nvidia card, but for the ATI cards, there's an option about anti-aliasing, and anisotropic filtering. Sorry I'm not that much of a help, I'm just randomly throwing things your way. 2.8c 800mhz fsb 1 gb 512x2 geil dual channel asus p4p800 se 60 gb ibm 7200 rpm 80 gb maxtor 7200 thermaltake va3000 sapphire 9800 pro 128mb
