Steering in car games does not work

The problem is that I have played several car games. When I steer using the keyboard arrow keys, it does not steer sharply around corners and I end up crashing. I have tried a different keyboard and the problem still persists.
When I first played these car games, they were working perfectly.

Depends on the game, but there may be a "sensitivity" setting in the game options. Otherwise, perhaps adjust the key "repeat rate" in your control panel's keyboard settings.
