Okay here goes. About 9 times outta 10 I'll run SWG and I'll run maybe a few yards either on vehicle or by foot, and the damn game would just quit! just a "Poof!" back to windows. And other times It'll run fine for a while and then I'll try chase a fleeing enemy and "Poof!" back to windows. no error messages or anything. I dl'd the updated DX and that didn't help. I'm using a geforcefx 5200 128mb card made by MSI. I thought that maybe installing new drivers for it might help but as of yet I haven't located any updated drivers for it. MSI's website is a joke and hard to navigate. any help would be appreciated.

I think u might have a ram issue.
I've installed SWG on three computers. My comp(AMD3000, 1gb ram, xp home, ATI 9800 XT, Soyo KT-400 mobo) was having problems with 1.5 gigs of ram , i upped it to 2 gigs and the problems got worse. So I dropped to 1 stick of 1 gig of pc2700 ram and it has not crashed once since.
I built a comp for my sister(AMD2600, 1gb ram, xp home, ATI 9700, Soyo KT-333 mobo) and she gets kicked to desktop about half of the times she plays. She has 2 sticks of 512mb pc2700.
My other sister has a AMD1900, 768mb ram(3 sticks of 256mb pc2100, xp home, geforce FX 5200, and a shuttle mobo and hers has never had a problem.
I honestly never thought that the ram could affect this game so much but in my computers case it did. And apparently may other SWG players have the same desktop crash problem. So the only advice I can give is to test ur ram. Try starting the game with only one stick and see if u crash. If it doesn't crash consider using less ram or u could buy higher quality ram like Kingston or something. I heard that SWG doesn't like mixed brands of ram either so be careful.
