I think I know what the problem may be, its cause your system's manufacturer is windows...lol.

But seriously, I believe 512mb of ram is more then sufficient to handle KOTOR. The cause lies elsewhere. Do you know if you have a Video card or not. Is your monitor pluged in the lower bottom half or the upper top half of your case?

that card is old and bad thats why
