Name: Deimos
Hello again folks!
I recently "adquired"(if you know what I mean) the game splinter cell double agent. The thing runs well in the first level, UNTIL i come to the surface(the fist level's underwater) them, the game starts running almost in slow motion, and I think to my self(what a wonderfull world :P) is this normal?
I mean, I have a GF8600gts is this game suposed to run so slowly??Best Regards
PS:I was playing in the highest quality

According to the following article, SC: DA doesn't play as well with nVidia based cards as it does with ATI based cards. Lower the resolution, turn off the eye candy & make sure the game is fully patched.

ok thanks...so its not my card that is weak its just the game that doesnt like nVdia right??
Since im here(and i dont wana waste space with an other post) as you know, my CPU is Athlon 64x2 5200+ what i wana know is if its 2.6Ghz are already the result os the x2(1.3x2=2.6 ) or if its 2.6 still multiply by the x2(2.6x2.6 = 6.76)
Best Regards

Your video card isn't weak...it's a good mid-range card, but since when do you have an 8600GTS? I thought you had (or were getting) an X1950Pro? Read the above article, it discusses some the problems with the game & explains what *might* work to fix them...such as lowering the settings & installing the latest game patch.
The X2 5200+ has two cores, each running at 2.6GHz. Do not add them together, do not multiply them. If you don't run programs or games that are optimized for the dual core, the performance is only slightly better than the single core A64 4000+ Orleans (2.6GHz).

I mean I was getting a X1950Pro but i've been looking at some charts and the X1950Pro's performance was pretty weak comparing it to this card & this one suppords Dx 10.
And can you give me examples of games and programs that ARE optimized for dual core?

You need Vista to be able to take full advantage of games that support DX10. So unless you're running Vista (or plan on getting it), having a card that supports DX10 is unnecessary. It certainly doesn't hurt to have a DX10 card or run DX10 games on a WinXP machine, but since DX10 isn't supported by XP, you won't see any of the benefits of DX10.
Currently, there are very few games that support DX10:

Yes I have Vista ^^
Thanks for the links they helped! But I think its kinda "stolen" from Linux for example the Wellcome screen is EXACTLY the same. Imight be saying completly wrong stuff, but as a beginner in this matter i think Vista IS XP with pretty icons and DX10.
PS: Correct me if I'm wrong please
