Splinter cell 3 no sound

CPU/Ram: AMD3200 939 1024ram

I recently got my copy of Splinter cell 3 and installed the game. During the start and intro and videos I get sound but then no sound in game play. Is this a hardware acceration problem or something to do with EAX etc.
My mother bord is an Asrock Combo-Z with a Realtek 850 7.1channel AC'97 audio codec integrated sound card..
Any help here please
I have directX 9C installed.

Seeing as its published by EA, then it probably has about four dozen patches already. Check out the website for updates.

sorry to burst your bubble but this is a Ubisoft product. Normally better than EA
